Die Pulteney Destillerie liegt am südlichsten Ende von Wick und wurde 1826 gegründet. Sie ist Schottlands nördlichste Destillerie auf dem Festland. Früher wurde Wick als solch wilder Ort betrachtet, dass es eine Zeitlang unter der Prohibition litt. Ironischerweise produzierte Pulteney während dieser Zeit der Abstinenz weiterhin Whisky.
